Staff costs
The full cost of employees: wages and salaries, social security and pension charges.
Staff costs brings together gross wages and salaries, employer social security contributions and pension charges. It is the cost to the company, not what employees receive.
One thing to be clear about: this figure does not say how many people work at the company. Headcount is disclosed in the notes to the accounts, which are filed as PDF and are not part of the published structured data. Overit does not infer it from staff costs, and nor should anyone — an assumed average salary times a guess is not a headcount.
In Luxembourg this line is also the sharpest divider between a trading company and a holding structure: a great many companies in the register have no staff costs at all, because they employ nobody.
