Result for the year

What is left once every charge and every tax has been taken out of every income. Negative, it is a loss.

The result for the year is the last line of the profit and loss account: all income less all charges, tax included.

There is a Luxembourg peculiarity that makes this figure far more available than you would expect. A filer may mark the profit and loss account confidential, and 51.7% of filed periods are. But the result also appears in the balance sheet, under capital and reserves — so it stays public for 99.5% of periods. Overit reads it from the profit and loss account where that is published, and from the balance sheet where it is not.

The result is also the amount by which capital and reserves grow over the year, if nothing is distributed.
